North Bay Fencing Academy - Fencing for Sonoma, Marin and Napa

North Bay Fencing Academy is the region's full service fencing institution. We are dedicated to bringing all aspects of the sport of fencing to the unique community that is the North Bay. NBFA offers inspiration and guidance to all who wish to explore the ancient art of the blade in a safe, friendly and encouraging environment.

Our director, Maestro Peter Burchard, has over thirty-five years of expertise in the sport of fencing. He oversees the instruction of our students from the complete beginner to the serious competitor. Maestro Burchard is uniquely qualified as a Fencing Master, with degrees from both the United States Fencing Coaches' Association and the Military Masters' Program.

NBFA offers instruction in the three modern Olympic sport weapons:

-    Foil
-    Sabre
-    Epee

At all levels:

-    Introductory
-    Recreational
-    Competitive

Our fencing programs are co-ed and are divided by age group, ability level and interest.

In addition to athletic training, NBFA offers comprehensive services for coaches and referees. We are sanctioned by the USFA to proctor certifying exams for both referees and coaches. We hold regular seminars and clinics in preparation for these tests.
